Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Washington University (anticipated 2018)
Charlie grew up in a small town outside of Boston with two architect parents. He spent the happiest hours of his childhood in the woodshop and building forts in the woods. He got hooked on design when he drafted and built an electric guitar in high school. Now he attends Washington University in St. Louis where he will complete his bachelor of science in architecture next year. This semester Charlie studied under Chandler Ahrens, former Morphosis project architect. The studio focused on the soft elements of design, and featured an innovative program that linked a data center with a spa in order to mitigate heat waste and heat consumption. Last summer Charlie worked closely with a team of six at Sasaki Architects in Watertown, MA, where he produced models, renderings, diagrams, and other presentation materials. The summer before that he was on site for a month helping with a major colonial barn restoration project in Concord, MA. This fall, he is headed off to Florence to study abroad, where he will learn under Carlos Scarpa historian Robert McCarter. Charlie loves to work with a team and can't wait to spend this summer in Austin at MF Architecture.
