CURVE STREET RESIDENCE

Referencing the humble vernacular character of its Robinson Hill neighborhood in East Austin, the Curve Street Residence features modified gable roof form and articulated volumes. The home is designed for a small business owner with a driveway separating an ADU-like suite and the rest of the house – all under one continuous roof. The ground floor consists of bedrooms and intimate courtyards defined by fences, while the main living quarters are elevated to the top floor, positioning the public functions of cooking, dining, and living up into the surrounding tree canopies. An expansive deck wraps around the living space for indoor-outdoor living in an urban infill setting.
