OCTANT HOUSE GARAGE

The design of Octant House utilizes sculptural handing of stone, water, and form to create a canvas for natural light. The property is organized into 4 quadrants, each with its own overlapping transparent volume. Each transparent volume marries a specific functional use defined by the owners’ unique lifestyle requirements to the surrounding landscape. One of these glass volumes is a two-story glass garage and adjacent lounge celebrate our client’s passion for Porsches. The garage is meant to be a functional showroom that spotlights two special cars at a time that are on-view from an adjacent lounge as well as the guest entry walkway to the house’s front door. This garage’s connected lounge space is a further celebration of Porsches, furnished with the owners’ vintage furniture and model car collection. In further tribute to cars, a 3-car every-day garage with specialty tilt-up doors is tucked under the lounge and accessed from a driveway on the other side of the structure. The two-story glass garage is accessible to cars by a fully glazed sliding door that provides access to a private driveway.
